Job Description Summary:

\n

Marion Cancer Center is hiring a casual (as needed), day shift Radiation Therapist. Located on the campus of Marion General Hospital in Marion, Ohio, this is a Monday-Friday opportunity in a newer facility with state-of-the-art equipment. This smaller office environment allows the Radiation Therapist time to spend with patients and build a rapport that shows you care. There are no weekends or holidays.\n

\nThe Radiation Therapist delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters.\n

Responsibilities And Duties:

35%\n
\nAdministers Radiation Therapy treatments on a daily basis.\n
\n20%\n
\nMaintains daily record of treatment, inclusive of daily dosages and calculations and other necessary treatment records.\n
\n5%\n
\nPerforms simulations, acquires treatment parameters, patient contours and dose calculations.\n
\n10%\n
\nTherapists who are scheduled to work 80 hours per pay, may be required to be on-call for weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.\n
\n10%\n
\nMaintains patient schedules for In-Patients and Out-Patients communicates frequently with families and hospital personnel to maintain schedule coordination and accommodate patients as best as possible.\n

\nMonitors patient Condition and progress on a daily basis. i.e., patient weighs, skin care, reaction, etc. .\n
\n5%\n
\nAssists Radiation Oncologist in performance of Brachytherapy procedures. Oversees and directs clinical activities of Radiation Therapy Technology students. Provides clinical insight to Radiologic Technology students, nursing students, etc. as needed.\n

\nParticipates in Department Clinical QA activities, new patient conference, tumor board and QRM.\n
\n
\n
\nAs a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.  \n

Minimum Qualifications:

\n

Associate's Degree (Required)ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, DL - Driver's License - Department of Motor Vehicles, LIC - Licensed in Field - State of Ohio\n

Additional Job Description:

Registered with the ARRT and licensed to practice in the State of Ohio, graduate of approved Radiation Therapy Technology Training Program. BLS Certification\n
